Painting the Roses Red
January 14, 2007- Pittsburgh- Kicking off the new year, La Vie opens “Painting the Roses Red” with an opening reception January 25, 7 – 11 P.M. The opening coincides with Final Fridays on Butler Street when local businesses in Lower Lawrenceville stay open late, offering drinks, food and music.

“Painting the Roses Red” features new artwork by Dallah Cesen, Gabe Felice, Carolyn Kelly, Laura Jean McLaughlin, and Danny Paracat. The fantastical permeates the work in this premier show with chimerical imagery and a sense of reverie.

La Vie will host a satellite showing of Plastic Poetics, curated by Cara Erskine and located at the Regina Gouger Miller Gallery. There will be four pieces by contributing artists Ian Finch, Maya Schindler, Sarah E. Wood and Colin Zaug. La Vie will offer new merchandise for Valentine’s Day including work by Amy Rappa and Mary Mack, as well as new handbags by Ray-Min. Thommy Conroy will be creating his popular 100% wool creatures.
